Well lo and behold after a few weeks of some great rain and otherwise ordinary weekends, we finally got to get away. Left Shepparton on Friday arvo, four vehicles, full of optimism and looking forward to a few trout for the table or so we thought.

The drive through the valley from Tallangatta to Eskdale was just spectular, green pastures and fat cattle'sheep everwhere bloody marvelous what a few inches of rin will do eh?

Friday night,of course, straight to the pub, Ummm Saturday morning rolled around real quick,up at 6 am quick brekkie and to the Lake. First though we had to run the heaters in the car to defrost the windows. Big Frost everything frozen including fuel in the outboard tank bulbs this saw a few boaters boiling water to get them on the water . Saturday saw a few small trout to the net but definitely nothing outstanding. Weather was beautiful blue skies no wind. My first time fishing with snow on the mountains asound the Lake.

Saturday , the pub a few drinks and more that a bit of B*s-t. Sunday morn up 5 am. uummm more frost. On the water -couldn't see more that 20 meters very thick fog. very very cold until round 11 when sun finally broke through.Few more trout caught mainly rainbows. Great week-end accomadation $100/n was terrific, warm, clean and a reasonable $ shard between 6 blokes. Will go back great country
