I have to do it! That is write about the flathead we have been catching here again. It just doesn't seem to stop!

021 (450 x 600)

I have struggled to catch anything other than flathead recently and that is because basically I haven't tried catching anything else! The reason for this is not only are there just tonnes of them around, and in good sizes, I keep hearing stories (hopefully not tall one's) of really good ones being caught. I mean in the 80-90cm range and I couldn't get one! All I can manage is some pultry 50-60cm range frogs. Bit tough eah.

But as I write this they are starting to drop off as the winter species start to show up. There has been little runs of blackfish about and I'm sure with the mouth still open quite good they will really turn it on this winter. Plenty of good weed already showing up.

Although I will miss the flatties (probably the best season I have experienced) it will be cool to start targeting something else.

A bent rod is a good rod
