Took the Girls Isabelle (4) and Sienna (2) out to the rowing club for a little fish and I was being hounded as to why I hadn't taken them to Darwin (by the girls not their mother).
Isabelle had asked for a reason as to why she couldn't go to Darwin with me prior to my trip and I told her because there are crocodiles there. She quick produced "Well can we go to our spot where we catch fish down the river, when you get back Dad?" Of course we can I said. By now Sienna had heard the back end of this conversation and in her very limited English began to shout "FISH... FISH....FISH." Which I could only stop by saying "Yes".
I actually thought they would have forgotten while I was away but as soon as I returned I was reminded of the promise I made to the two of the and so we went out yesterday and fished for mullet. I keep their fishing trips very short to keep them interested. I also only ever go where it is certain that I am going to catch something.
As it is not the right time to fish for Bass in the upper Nepean River (due to the fact the big ones have all migrated to breed) I fished for mullet. I only expected mullet but again was surpised to hook a couple Baby Bass on the bread I was float fishing with.
We caught a few little mullet and two Baby Bass, the girls had a blast and I got to keep my promise to them :).
Life doesn't get any better!!!!!!!
