With the calm seas each morning that this time of the year can bring, it's great to hit the blue water, but remember to keep your eye on the weather. If a storm starts building up it's best head in close.

Out from the Lodge of Dundee, Golden Snapper have been caught in great numbers along the shallow reefs off Point Blaze. Out wider Mackerel and Tuna schools have been abundant. The rocks around Dundee Lodge are producing some large Barramundi and Blue Salmon.

Bynoe and Darwin Harbours are fishing well, with Barramundi and Threadfin Salmon on the flats and in the gutters. The rock bars in the harbours have good numbers of Golden snapper and the odd big Mangrove Jack.

The larger creeks around the Adelaide River mouth have fished well for Barramundi on the neep tides. Out around Cape Hotham and Ruby Island there have been lots of Golden Snapper and a few Jew Fish on the ledges. The rock bars and creeks have had good Barramundi and Threadfin Salmon. At the time of writing this report it had been raining for the last four hours so this will probably quieten things down here.

The reports coming in from the weather bureau tell us that the monsoon trough is moving down so hopefully we're in for a good wet season. This in turn will result in great run-off fishing in March.

Remember we're only as good as our last day fishing.

Hi Geoff, how far off is your next report? I have heard that the wet season is starting to get into full swing. Does all look good for a good run-off this year as I will be up early April. The last few years have been a bit ordinary, so here's hoping for a big one.

PS. Great article
