G'day guys and girls, I have just done the sea change thing. Moved to the Bundy area. I have found the yabbie beds , can get the live bait with the net, tryed out the soft plastics, fish the incoming tide but have very limited success. Stuck with land based fishing . Looking for some techniques and tips to put a smile on my kids faces. tezz. |

Hi Donga1 what plastics r u using? if i am casting flats i use small Popper's 35-50mm, The same size hard body's. And 2" gulps and power bait's.I also think fluorocarbon leaders are a must for shallow water lures. i like to use 4-6lb fluorocarbon as a leader on sand (open area not to many snags)and 10lb for Rockey areas. Try a few different ways of retrieve and lures in varying paint jobs and see how u go. |

Yep! donga1, Big Jim has got the good oil on using plastics, any and all types of retrieve will do the job, also mix & match paint jobs. But listen to Starlo (on this site you read) and use the "S" factor on your soft or hard bodied lures & your catch rate will give you all a buzz. it loads of info on lots of internet sites about FISHING (good fun havin a surf too). Remember limit your kill, not kill your limit. A great amount(95%) of my wife's and I's catch goes off the hook, and back into the briny, usually only keep if survival is not lookin good. Don't forget too throw a live bait out now & then with a bit of "S" on, great on heaps of species in the shallows. CHEERS! Fishing - It's A Life Choice |
