I once lived with mate for a short while who was an absolute wiz on Dart off the Rocks (Agnes Water, Queensland). It was a bad move to bet whoever caught the least amount of fish cleaned them (first time I fished with him). As I caught only three for the two hour session as opposed to Bill's 42. I should have stuck to the Estuary.

Does anyone else target Dart or are they mainly your by catch. If so what were you fishing for?

Living where I live(NSW central coast) dart can really only be considered a bycatch although we do occasionally get a few more than what would be expected, usually only off the beach though. Off the rocks my favourite two fish would have to be the black drummer and the blue groper. These two fish pull like a freight train and taste pretty good too!

Anyone else out there fish the stones. Let us hear what you catch and what you would like to catch. One thing that I haven't done and would like to achieve is to put a decent kingy on the rocks.

Hey Jiggler,

I live at Terrigal and have managed to land a couple of nice Kings off The Skillion and have seen some absolute monsters around at Winnie Bay (20-30kg) you wouldn't even attempt to land them on 15kg and I'm sure 24kg would pull you in the drink.Summer is approaching but you will find kings most of the year if your persistant..Live or fresh squid is one of the best baits off the stones along with yakkas, mullet or slimeys if you're luckky to jag one in summer

Happy Fishing

Yeah I have heard and seen some good captures of the skillion and Avoca rocks. I have actually fished Winnie Bay once and got blown away by a something(maybe one of those kings). Also the rocks around Putty Beach near Killcare have produced some wipeouts. I have recently upgraded my gear and looking forward to landing one of those unseen freight trains. At putty I used a live yakka which where in swarm proportions at the time hence the wipeouts! All good stuff though. Post some pictures if you have them Beachmaster, I'd really like to have a look.
