this is one mainly for vics unless anyone else has fished hastings and has tips. the other day i went to hastings and drifted between buoy 28 and 30 for 2 small flathead. i then headed over to lysaught where we caught jack all. we used a running paternoster rig, the baits we used were pilchard, squid (freshly caught), silver whiting, saurie, and stripie tuna fillet. any tips would be greatly appreciated. merry christmas a happy new year and may it be filled with fish.

The middle spit Hastings is producing some quality Yting, eventhough the tides have not been that strong most fish caught were at around the 21 metres mark, best baits are mussel and pippy. Lysaughts snapper are firing up again with fish in the 3 to 6 kilo mark being taken on fresh squid heads and pillies, the tides dont seem to matter much, most people I talk to say that the snapper snatcher rigs are taking some quality snapper in WPB. Warneet is also having a good run of Yting with fish to 40 cm taken on mussel and pippies. Berley is a must for fishing WPB, use a little often. Hope this helps a little. Have a great xmas and be safe. Kaz
