In the various places I have lived as a local and also many visited places I have seen and heard of some horrific stories of pollution, fish kills and general unappreciation of our wildlife in the misvision that beating mother nature makes you a hero. REAL fisherpeople actually work with mother nature and appreciate the beauty that you get to witness while fishing. They ARE NOT the rubbishing grubs who believe that cricket scores of mostly undersized fish destined for the mincer makes them angler of the year. I have had just about enough of these people. So lets do something about it! Report any incident that you believe to be wrong or that you dead set know is wrong. Bugger 'em, they are stuffing up OUR fishing. Also report here! probably best to leave personal details out though. LETS STOP 'EM. |

Could'nt agree more Jiggler. These sort of people are the reason responsable fisherpeople are being locked out of the areas that should be free for everybody to enjoy. |

Yep, I agree as well have seen it before, like Kurnell Boat harbour, undersize bass at the Penrith regatta centre, you see it all over the place. Not good at all, but in this day and age you go over to say something could get you knifed or shot. Dan See my fishing galleries here...

Thats right guys. The minority(the grubs) are making some places unaccessable to the rest of us through their thoughtless acts, the hot water outlet at San Remo up my way is one example and it WAS a great spot. Also I would have to agree with Dan that approaching some of these individuals(the grubs) could be frought with danger, but I suppose the only thing we can do is to report it to the proper authorities and HOPE that they do something about it. Get as much info as you can, car rego's, type of grubby activity, where they were being heros etc and encourage the fisheries dept, police etc to stop it. I have Fishermans Watch's phone no. programmed in to my mobile phone and have used it while i have been fishing. The no. is 1800043536. The more its acted upon the better chance we REAL fisherpeople have of keeping our fisheries. |

Yipee! Went fishing this afternoon and found some grubs. they were keeping ALL fish that they caught( and believe me there were no legal ones out there) and where throwing all of their rubbish in the water. I called Fishermans Watch, not terribly sure if anything was to get done about it, but they turned up and busted 'em! Yeeehaaaa. Thats one group thats hopefully detered. |

Good one, its not often you see people getting caught for rubbishing and taking illegal fish. It's not so hard to take rubbish back to the boat ramp, most have bins. Bout time. Dan See my fishing galleries here...

It was the Fisheries dept at the Entrance. Not to sure if they got fined or not cause I did keep my distance once they turned up. It was along the north channel of the Entrance just across from Terilbah Island. Tell you what it made my day. As I have so clearly expressed before, the grubs give me the shits. It's not as though you have to be a rocket scientist to work out that if most people keep small fish there will be no big fish. If you throw plastic and crap into the water it's not going to help (if you only think about yourself) YOUR Fishing. But you might as well beat your head against a brick wall most times as some of the grubs(which I have tried my best to educate) Just don't seem to get it. Anyway thats my say. I'm Derryn Hinchinbrook. Thats Life. |

let us hear what your favourite eating fish is! For mine is fingermark but I must admit I haven't eaten Coral trout or red Emperor or some of those other highly rated fish. Also love smoked salmon. |
