I heard through the grape vine that a over 80cm bass was landed 2 weeks ago at Somerset. Has anyone else heard this or seen the photo of this monster yet. Keen to find out who and get a look at the photo. I do believe the story would like proof but.

Haven't heard anything but I to would like to see pics of that one. What a Thumper (if true)...

I'm very sceptical of this one Moggy. I have heard of bass getting to 60 but not 80. I haven't even heard of a 70 yet so if you can somehow muster up a picture of this i'm sure I will faint in disbelief. As anyone seen or heard of anything over 60cm's?

My fishing buddy has caught a 71cm in Wivenhoe just below the Somerset wall. He has some photo's of it. Will get one when i get back from barra comps and see if i can post it, just to give you a look.

Jaye (jiggler) we obviously need to get our arse into gear and get ourselves a MoNsTER Bass..... I am not happy that my PB is 54cm. I feel positively tiny ..... :)

Agreed. i've been bass fishing for near on 20 years now and my best is 53cm's. I thought this was huge and i've caught a fair few 50cm's and over and I thought I was catching really special fish. Since this forum post started I have seen too many 60-70cm bass to not think there is one out there for me. My bass fishing bug has just gone up a heap and I will not be satisfied when I die if I don't get one over 60!

Sorry it took so long to reply guy's, was having to good a time catching quality fish. I am haeading back to Awoonga this weekend with the mate that has the photo of the 71cm bass.
