First time post looking for advice. Ex-pat Pom of 4 years, looking to get back in, ex keen Coarse Fisher...everything different here! Live N.E Melbourne on banks of Yarra - Warrandyte. Any guidance, on : the river and its species best method to fish, would love it to be coarse by float, but nothing on my initial investigations in this wonderful country suggest there is a possibility of that. 4 yr ex-pat pom. Was mad keen Coarse Fisher more than 20 yrs ago, want to get my kids into it, my interest re-ignited following a great afternoon at a friends lagoon north of echuka. Need to learn species, and technique..........everything so different to my Coarse days. Love to hear from any Coarse Anglers. |

G'day Blueboy, welcome to our very fishy Oz. Coarse fishing is possible but there are so many more exciting ways of fishing here( if you are looking to fish not only in Melbourne). Seems though you have a passion for coarse fishin' and the best species to target would be carp. Not much experience coarse fishing for them but caught thousands in my younger years on light lines small rods and delicatley presented baits of sweet corn. Even flyfished for them and got some and a couple on lures. Good luck and tight lines. |
