Had my final crack at a big Green Fish for awhile on the weekend. The Callop really didnt want to play ball. I had a new fishing mate with me, and we were super keen to nail a Cod. My mate had never been trolling before so was keen just to catch anything, but i was hell bent on getting a Cod into the boat.

We trolled for a fair while, before going to casting, but nothing seemed to be turning the fish on. We had been at it for over 4 hours, before my mate finally called out that he was on (that'd be right!! :-(). I was very happy for him though, as being his first time he was getting pretty excited as the obviously big fish towed him all over the place. We eventually got the fish boatside and we got her into the boat. We pulled over to the other side of the river to take a quick couple of pics, before releasing the old girl. In our haste to get the fish back in the water, we didnt get a measurement, but i will safely say it was between 1m and 1.1m and weighed around 50-55lbs going on what we have caught previously.

We tried for another hour or so without a touch before calling it a day.

Sorry about the poorish photo, i just took a photo with my phone of the photo Darren gave me. Darren's first Cod!
