hi fishing friends, i have been fishing now in lake macquarie for bout 25 just as a turn up when i wanna fish kind of angler, but since i have had a motorbike accident that has seem me with a few months off the bike i fugure i have more time to fish. everything i read on fishing always mentions something about the tide and fishing at the right times, my problem is how do i know when that is? and where can i find the tidal info needed to make a more informed outing when wanting to catch a fish or increase my chances anyway, as its fishing nothing is ever a sure thing, so if anyone can help me out with how to find the right tidal info and use this to improve my chances i would be most greatful. thanks for ya time and many hook ups to ya all |

i went for a fish today and got small bream constantly with a few long toms and a couple of nice tailor, i had my daughter and nephew they are 5 and 8 so i didn't get a chance to cast a soft plastic for flathead, but the constant numbers of fish biting kept the kids happy ok me also. |

Empty, Your local tackle store will have a tide chart (these are free) this is your BIBLE to fishing. I generally don't go out unless the tide is right. Different species fish better on different tides so I suppose first you should decide what you want to catch, of the available species in your area? If you dont care and just want to catch whatever you can. fish the high tide should be more productive. Flathead are easier to catch when the tide is dropping and fish are always more concerntrated around the mouths or drains of lake or rivers. This is because all the water HAS to go in or out through it - which means so to do fish, bigger fish will always be waiting for them. Very small fish and bait also get swept away with the tide and washed out to sea along with other leftover goodies from fish battles. This all just adds to the fact that fish will be waiting there for it all. Fish under the road bridge at Swansea on the run-out tide with bait or soft plastics. Fishing of points or around structure in general is always a good start. |
