Paul Doolan cleans up in Hervey Bay but who else chases GT on Fly? Must admit this is one of the Species on my "To Fish List" |

Gudday Rick, Have been catching a few GT's up to 20kg plus on poppers (spin gear) but have missed all the big ones on fly so far. Next summer will be all geared up for some big GT sessions on fly. Have a few hot spots in Hervey Bay where fish mentioned above are at the back of the boat during certian stages of the tide. I took a japanese client in january and he got an 18kg fish, hooked boatside and showered us with water.I think we need a 12weight plus, will only fish 30 pound tippet to aid in quick release of fish. Will keep you guys posted, hopefully some good photo's will follow. regards Mark Bargenquast.
