Was going to do this up as an article, but probably not really relevant under any of the headings you given there.

so will just drop a quick note to say be careful where you park your car when you go beach fishing.

I was recently up north at Lake Cathie and left my Car where I thought it would be visibile from the road in a small dirt car parking area.

Off I went for a beach fish for a couple hours from about 6-8pm so it was still just daylight when I was getting back and noticed there was some stuff glittering on the ground near the passenger windows..waddya know some scumbags had broken in smashing both passenger side windows and stealing whatever valuables they could find.

Well they managed to get a couple Alvey reels and a GPS and cost me 400 bucks in excess to the insurance company.

So beware where you park your car even if for a few hours and to top it off there were no fish caught.

Probably lucky as well that I didnt come up and catch anyone in the act or they didnt come looking for trouble on the beach, for my sake.

yea ive only started beach fishing but will think again instead of parking in the empty lot at night not even visible from where i fish

That sux Dan. I am lucky where I go up on the Central Coast my car hasnt been broken into in 6 years fishing the same beach- and the bonus is I usually head back to Sydney with at least 1 fish- if am real luck I sometimes get 2 or more- but uusally only 1.
